It always feels like the first time I met you But I've been drinking you up for years Everything is so brand-new with you And I can see in your eyes it's true. Time's slipping away, time's slipping away I try to tell myself it's easy To turn the key and lock the door But since I've only just started, I might as well just have one more Don't take me so seriously I'm just trying to make it through You'll never understand me, girl Unless you're standing in my shoe You see I love the act but I hate the results And I certainly do love the feel. But the night always falls so fast through my hands That I'm unable to seal the deal. Time's slipping away, time's slipping away Time's slipping away, but I'm here to stay Don't ever let me go, just because I can't say no. Come on over and scratch the palm of my hand You know I love how it makes me feel I've told you before that I’d kill for you So of course my love I'd steal Don't take me so seriously I'm just trying to make it through You'll never understand me girl Unless you're standing in my shoe Time's slipping away, time's slipping away

about

The Haymakers wanted this to be a snapshot of these songs: close to how we have been performing them over the past few years with a few extra touches here and there.

So the basic tracks were recorded with the 4 of us playing together. Since Del couldn't record his vocals while drumming, Rob sang along for the guys to keep track of the song. We added the vocals & more guitars later. Our friend Peter graciously laid down keyboards to fill out the tracks. Dave Westner polished these ragtag rockers into something we're very proud to share.

Turn it up and enjoy!

about

The Haymakers Boston Boston, Massachusetts

From a Cape Cod campfire jam to weekly trips in the basement, The Haymakers bring the good-time rock 'n roll to clubs around Boston down to the South Shore and up to Vermont. Together it is no-nonsense, rough-and-tumble batch of strumming and drumming.

One foot is firmly placed in American rock & the other foot stretching across the Atlantic and back to the sounds of the late-60s/early-70s.
